Yesterday we were very lucky to have a Skype call with scientists on an expedition to the North Pole!
This involved all S1 pupils in the assembly hall which helped to make connections between Geography where pupils have recently been learning about the Tundra and what it’s like to live there.
One fun fact that we found out was that scientists had to adapt their diet and consume 5000-6000 calories a day to ensure they stay warm (meaning they can eat lots and lots of chocolate!)
More Skype calls are currently being planned between now and summer so keep your eyes peeled!
Thanks to Mr McLagan for organizing this.
