Kingussie High School were delighted to have a big role in this years Food on Film Festival. For the opening night at the Iona Gallery Art Teacher Miss Katy Thompson worked with our S3 Elective class on Fish and Feathers themed pieces including the creation of some rather spectacular fascinators and head wear! The school was also lucky enough to be donated some slide stills from Kate Swan the producer of the film ‘Kiss the Water’ that was shown during the opening night.
On Friday our Creative Industries students organised and hosted their own film evening. During the evening they showcased previous films that had been created by former pupils for former festivals and also premiered their own short film ‘The Wolf of Walls Street’. Former pupil Huw Mitchel (now studying at UHI: Inverness College) was also presented with a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award during the evening (not bad for the 19 year old!).
Pupils were back in action in the Festival Food Hall on Saturday helping set things up but also helping with live demonstrations and serving tasty samples to the hundreds of people that came through the doors during the day. There are many more photos on the Festival Gallery on their website www.kingussiefoodonfilm.co.uk
