Yesterday was the first Chromebook induction for 1 Spey pupils. All the other S1 will have their induction next week.
Our new S1 will be the first year group to go through the whole of KHS with ubiquitous access to technology – exciting times ahead for sure.
There is no doubt about it the world is becoming a smaller place and as Mr Bray said at assembly last week, ‘well geography still matters, distance matters less’. A great example of this is technology such as Skype. Last week S1 Geography classes Skyped with Woodhaven Middle School in Edmonton, Canada.
The purpose of the Skype was to discuss differences in the weather in different parts of the world. It would be fair to say that pupil son both sides of ‘the pond’ enjoyed the experience.
Skype is just one of the technologies that we are starting to embrace at Kingussie High School – we have lots of Skype calls planned between now and the summer.
