What a great few days the Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Groups have had. Seventeen of our pupils passed their Silver Award and we also had six passes at Gold Level. The assessor was very positive about the groups organisation, humour and navigation skills.
Well done to everyone involved and particular thanks to our staff and volunteers Ollie Bray, Scott Douglas, Nicki Diggins, Mark Diggins, Bob Kinnaird and assessor John Patchett.

We have been running Duke of Edinburgh Training for All S3 Students on a Thursday Afternoon. Over the course of three weeks each class practices their Orienteering skills, have a chance to cook outside (well make Hot Chocolate!) and also practice putting up tents (in the assembly hall if it is miserable outside!).
Mr Bray and Miss Seymour have been working with groups of S3 on camping and outdoor skills (good preparation for their Duke of Edinburgh Award later in the year). Today as well as looking at stoves, filtration and water purification we group made hot chocolate by melting snow.
